FORscene: Overview

FORscene streamlines the process of video editing and publishing. It is suitable for a wide range of users, from broadcast professional wanting to use FORscene's advanced features, to Amateurs who simply want video on their website. This page gives a simple overview of how you could use it.

  1. Capture.
    Capture footage on your video camera.
  2. Upload.
    Upload captured footage to FORscene using FORupload, or by using our professional ingest system. FORupload is a software utility which will upload video either directly from your DV camera or from previously stored files on your hard disk (AVI files). It can also upload still images (such as jpeg's) for use in slideshows. FORscene can also accept video from our live encoder so that you can edit your live programme as it happens !
  3. Access, Log & Edit.
    Access your FORscene account from a standard web browser (from anywhere in the world with a computer and broadband), log and edit your footage to produce your final clip or programme.
  4. Review.
    Because of FORscene's collaborative editing features your colleagues can review your work irrespective of there geographical location.
  5. Publish.
    You can now publish your edited footage from FORscene:
    • Embed streaming video into any website
    • Automatically hosted by FORscene servers
    • Java streaming videos therefore easily accessible to viewers
